Berg, Nicole Kimberly (Birth – 19 April 1983)

James and Cynthia Berg, 303 Grand Ave., Neillsville, became parents, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, of a daughter, Nicole Kimberly, on April 19. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Holliday and Mr. and Mrs. Mel Berg, of Janesville. Great grandparents are William Kempemaiar and Lucille Holliday of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Jessie Soule of Stevens Point.

Lampi, Karen Kay (12 February 1940 – 15 August 2024)

Karen Kay Lampi, age 84, of Abbotsford, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Karen was born on February 12, 1940, the daughter of Vaner and Anna (Stabnow) Lindgren in Loyal. She attended school in Loyal and graduated from Owen-Withee High School. Karen was united in marriage to Donald R. Lampi on September 26, 1959, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2018.

Karen worked at ECO Manufacturing in Illinois, Tombstone Pizza in Medford and waitressed at Abby Café in Abbotsford. She also helped on the farm. Karen was very involved at Christ Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, was a youth group leader, Alter Guild, and Pricilla Guild. Karen enjoyed word search puzzle books, reading the Bible, watching the wildlife and birds around the farm, and cooking for everyone as there was always something to eat. She especially loved being with her family and friends.

Karen is survived by her four children: Matt D. (Jean) Lampi, Donna R. (Curtis) Ford, Bryan S. (Marla) Lampi and Tina L. Lampi, four grandchildren: Kathryn A. Lampi, Donald M. Lampi, Dylan J. Lampi and Ryan T. Lampi. She is further survived by her brother, Peter (Linda) Lindgren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six siblings: Bernard Lindgren, Gwendolyn Besnett, Ronald Lindgren, Jerry Lindgren, Thomas Lindgren and Cala Frey.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. Reverend Don Bruce will officiate. Burial will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Karen Greeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erland Greeler, of Neillsville, is one of 522 June 1986 graduates of Lakeshore Technical Institute (LTD) in Cleveland, Wisconsin.

Karen received her diploma in the Medical Assistant program during graduation exercises held Friday, June 6, 1986.

Marg Family (Reunion - 1986)

Donald and Jean Marg, Rt. 4, Neillsville hosted the Marg Family reunion on Jun e 22, at their family farm.

Committee members this year included Irvin and Lois Marg, Don and Jean Marg, Virginia Marg, Roger and Caroline Helm.

135 family members from Wisconsin and other states participated in the celebration. Out-of-state relatives came from Sioux City, Iowa; Chicago; and Noah, Utah. The Wisconsin branch of the Marg family was represented by those attending from New Berlin, Hewitt, Oshkosh, Richland Center, Alma Center, Mukwonago, Johnson Creek, Chippewa Falls, Hixton, Eau Clairre, Thorp, Stanley, Waupaca, Stratford, Milwaukee, Sun Prairie, Watertown, Marshfield, Granton and Neillsville.

Clark Co.-UW-La Crosse (Degrees - 1986)

David S. Schmitz, a senior majoring in Physical Therapy, whose home address is Rt. 1 Granton, has ben named to the Dean’s List for the second semester of the 1985-86 academic year. Qualification for the Dean’s List is based on outstanding academic achievement.

NHS Students Chosen for Badger State Boys and Girls State (1986)

Outstanding Qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty and service have led to six Neillsville High School students being chosen to attend Badger Boys and Badger Girls state this month. Attending Badger Girls State on the UW-Madison campus June 8 through June 14 will be Lynn Heideman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heideman; Marliss Wetzel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wetzel; and Liz Heiman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Heiman. Attending Badger Boys State June 14 through June 21 on the Ripon College Campus will be Gary Reither, son of Mr. and Mrs. Radford Reither; Todd Krehmeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Krehmeyer; and Suresh Neelagaru, son of Dr. and Mrs. Narasimhul Neelagaru. The youths are being sponsored by the American Legion, Rotary and Lions.

NHS Class of 1956 (30 Year Reunion - 1986)

Master of Ceremonies Gary Ziegler welcomed 38 members, spouses and guests of the Neillsville High School Class of 1956, during a 30th reunion celebration held Saturday evening, June 21, at the Neillsville Country Club. The Class of ’56 originally graduated 71 members.

Among the guests attending the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Lauscher and Mrs. Marie Covell. Mr. Lauscher was principal at NHS during the 1950’s. Mrs. Covell was secretary to the school’s administrative staff and the Class of 1956 dedicated their yearbook to her.

A moment of remembrance was given for six deceased class members: Betty Meier Dux, Ronald Klann, Donald Richmond, Dale Bush, Fritz Gutenberger and Vera Lincoln Tanem.
