Brost, Airman Rodger A. (Service Notes - 1978)

Airman Rodger A. Brost, son of Mrs. Linda Brost of 308 S. Maple, Marshfield, has graduated with honors at Sheppard AFB, Tex., from the U.S. Air Force technical training course for aircraft maintenance specialists.

Airman Brost, who was trained to maintain, repair and service aircraft currently in use by the Air Force, is being assigned to Spangdahlem AB, Germany, for duty with a unit of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe. Completion of the course earned the individual credits towards an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

The airman is a 1977 graduate of Colby High School. His father, Vernon Brost, resides in Unity.

Gosse, Judy Marie (Dean’s List - 1978)

Judy Marie Gosse, Rt. 2 Colby, was among students named to the Dean’s List at the UW-Madison. She placed in the upper 10 per cent of her class in the College of Letters and Science, the universities largest college with over 1,000 faculty members.

Hull, Kathy (Dean’s List - 1978)

Kathy Hull, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hull, Rt. 1 Abbotsford has been named to the Dean’s List at the Grace College of the Bible, Omaha, Neb.

Hull was congratulated by Academic Dean Donald J. Tschetter and the faculty for posting a 3.2 grade average for her work this past semester.

Knecht, Justin Edward (Birth/Baptism - 1978)

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Knecht on Dec. 19. They named him Justin Edward. He weighed 6 lbs. 11 1/2 ounces. He joins a brother Joshua, age 1. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Knecht, Unity and maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roman Schreiber, Athens. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Laabs, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Knecht, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Cartar, and Bernard Schreiber.

Baptism was held Sunday, January 22, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Lenard Stashek officiating. Sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Schaefer.

Guests attending were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Krautkramer, Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Schreiber and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Schreiber, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Schaefer, Mike Bern and the Roman Schreiber family; and Rev. Lenard Stashek. Supper was served to all attending.

Rannow, Robyn (Degree - 1978)

Robyn Rannow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rannow, Colby, was recently awarded an associate arts degree from the paralegal program at the University of Minnesota.

At the same time, she was accepted into the baccalaureate program at the university to work toward a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in social policy legislation research. She was also commended for maintaining a 3.9 grade average over her last four consecutive quarters of study.

Rannow is a member of the UM Acapella Choir and is secretary for the general college student board. She also serves as a student representative on the Student-Faculty Grievance Committee, while working as a teaching assistant for the practical law class.
