Hinke, Alfred (19 Sep 1903 – 26 Apr 1976)
Alfred Hinke, age 72, died at his home on Route 1, Dorchester, Monday evening,
April 26, 1976.
Funeral services will be held for Mr. Hinke at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home,
Abbotsford, Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
The Rev. Raymond Gurney will officiate. Burial will follow at the Dorchester
Memorial Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, after 4
p.m. today.
Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Hinke was born September 19, 1903 in the Town of Mayville. He received his
education at the Pleasant Hill School. He farmed in the Town of Mayville and
operated a tavern from 1937 to 1946, and a dance hall from 1930 to 1942. He was
also a manager of Dorchester Coop from 1952 to 1970.
He married the former Jessie Boor on August 28, 1928 at Medford. She survives.
Mr. Hinke was a 32 Degree Masson, a member of the Eau Claire Consistory, Medford
Chapter of Royal Arch Masons No. 70, and the Abbotsford Chapter No. 298. He was
also a member of the Dorchester Senior Citizens Club.
He is further survived by one son, Bryce, Dorchester; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur
(Jacqueline) Leipold, Skokie, Illinois, and Mrs. Glenn (Janice) Svoboda,
Grafton; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Ellsworth,
Elmira, Oregon; two sisters, Anna Bush, Dorchester, and Elva Miller, Hemet,
California; and one half-brother, Henry, Stanley.
