ABBOTSFORD -- The Melvin Companies has received its third consecutive award for safety for Sentry Insurance.

The award was presented during a Safety Committee meeting recently at the Melvin Companies' Abbotsford headquarters.

Award requirements include obtaining a premium to loss ratio of less than 25 percent. Firms must also have as active Safety Committee and safety program.

Don Chartier, a Sentry loss control consultant, said that Melvin Companies has attained less than a 5 percent premium to loss ratio for the last three years.

Also at the meeting, Don Mroczenski, of Medford, received plaques for their past service on the Safety Committee.

Other awards went to Butch Leu, Ron Schmitt, Tammy Melvin, Jim Melvin, Arnie Gottschalk, Daryl Kiesan, Larry Virnig, Jim Kucky and Dave Kuss.
