Erickson, Norman E. (24 Jan 1928 – 29 Apr 1976)
Norman Earl Erickson, age 28, died suddenly at his home in Stoughton, Thursday,
April 29, 1976 at 8:30 p.m. of an apparent heart attack,
Mr. Erickson was born January 24, 1928 at Curtiss, to Mr. and Mrs. Cornel
Erickson.
He attended Midway Elementary School, and graduate from the Owen High School in
1945. He served two and one-half years in the service, much of that time in
Japan. He then attended Northland College at Ashland for one years and graduated
from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls.
He received his Master’s degree in Science Education from Texas A & M, Texas.
Mr. Erickson taught school at Beloit, Malta, Illinois, and Coleman.
He was an assistant agricultural agent in Langlade County for two and one-half
years before moving to Stoughton. He had been a teacher in the Stoughton School
District for the last twelve years.
He was a member of the Frist Lutheran Church, a former church council member,
member of the church choir, and was a Sunday School music teacher.
Mr. Erickson married Gloria Wolfram of Owen at the Curtiss Lutheran Church, July
8, 1949.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six children, Rodney, Madison; Timothy, Eau
Claire; Jane, Rick, Peggy and Thomas at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cornel
Erickson, Curtiss; a brother, Howard, Addison, Illinois, and a sister, Mrs.
(Carol) Donald Schumacher, Eau Claire.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church
in Stoughton. Burial followed at East Side Cemetery there.
