Nevala, Toivo J. (6 June, 1902 - 09 November 1983)

THORP - Toivo J. Nevala, 81, Thorp, died Wednesday at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley.

Services will be Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp. The Rev. Robert Olson will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Visitation will be at the Thorp Funeral Home.

He was born June 6, 1902 in Finland, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin (Emily Maki) Nevala. He married Anita Baehr December 7, 1932 in Withee. She survives.

The couple farmed in the Town of Withee until 1981 when they retired and moved to Thorp.

Also surviving are two sons, Merlin of Menomonie and Donald of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Ray Nevala of Thorp and Art Nevala of Greendale; four sisters, Martha Patten and Mary Reinertson, both of Owen and Signe Lithen and Ila Kartinen, both of Michigan and four grandchildren.
