Father Frank Rushman officiated at the marriage of Diane Brill and Gene Orth on Saturday, April 24, 1976 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Brill, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Orth, Abbotsford.

Debby Rickard was organist and Steve Weber was soloist and guitarist for the 1:30 p.m. ceremony.

Mrs. James Acker, Wausau, was maid of honor. Mrs. Fred Hix, Green Briar, Tennessee, Marlene Orth, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Ken Welch, Marshfield, were bridesmaids.

Kim Brill, Colby, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid.

Attending the bridegroom as best man was Dennis Orth, Abbotsford. Groomsmen were Fred Hix, Green Briar, Tennessee, Steve Brill, Wausau, and David Brill, Colby.

Completing the wedding party were ushers Ken Welch, Marshfield, and Pat Brill, Colby.

A dinner was held at St. Mary’s gym, with a reception and dance at the Sword following.

The new bride is a 1970 graduate of Colby High School, and also graduated from the State College of Beauty Culture, Wausau. She is employed as a beautician at Merry’s Beauty Salon in Wausau.

Orth graduated in 1969 from Abbotsford High School and is employed at Wick Building Systems in Spencer.

The couple will reside in Willow Mobile Home Court at Spencer.
