Marg, Walter W. (6 February 1905 – 19 June 1983)

Walter W. Marg, 78, of rural Black River Falls died Sunday morning, June 19, in Black River Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 22, from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Black River Falls with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls.

The deceased was born February 6, 1905, in Neillsville to Frank and Pauline (Kupka) Marg. He lived his younger life in Neillsville and then in 1937 moved to Black River Falls. On December 17, 1938, he married Elizabeth Durst in Iowa ceremonies. Mr. Marg was a horse buyer and a Town of Albion farmer.

Surviving him, besides his wife, are two sons, David of Black River Falls and Russell of St. Paul, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Chris (Sharon Romel of Lamesa, Calif., Mrs. William (Shirley) Cherwin of Merrillan and Mrs. Ray (Luann) Aschenbrenner of Hixton. Joining them are two brothers, Paul of Mondovi and Kurt of Neillsville, a sister, Meta Hanby, Neillsville, and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister.

The Torgerson Funeral home of Black River Falls was in charge of arrangements. The pallbearers were Alvin and Henry Schutte, Raymond and Ivan Durst, Keith Marg and Roger Hanby.
