Taves, Sandra Lynn (1 May 1976)

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tomahawk, was the scene May 1, 1976 of the marriage of Sandra Lynn Taves, Abbotsford and Dennis James Westphal, Athens.

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Audrey Taves, Tomahawk, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Westphal, Route 2, Athens.

Pastor Israel performed the 4 p.m. marriage rites.

The bride wore a long white gown with long sleeves trimmed with flower appliques. The gown also featured a lace yoke with high neck and the long train was edged with a ruffle. Her long lace trimmed veil was appliqued with flowers. She carried pink roses, baby’s breath and daisies.

Kathy Taves, maid of honor, wor ea blue V necked gown with tapered sleeves. Kathy Grube, Sherree Sandburg and Erin Ernst, bridesiamds, wore yellow, min and apricot gowns identical to the maid of honor. They carried carnations tinted to match their gowns. Leon Westphal was best man for his brother. Al Poehnelt, Charles Taves and DuWayne Olson were groomsmen.

Tammy Fry, Tomahawk, was flower girl, and Troy Wrinkler, Wisconsin Rapids, was ring bearer.

Completing the wedding party were ushers Ed Nystrom, Tomahawk, and Myron Westphal, Marshfield.

A buffet supper and dance followed at the Deer Train Bar in Tomahawk.

The bride is employed at Medo-Farms in Abbotsford and the bridegroom is employed at Streckert’s in Abbotsford.
