Helen Bogaard, a teacher at the Abbotsford Elementary School for 18 years, was honored at a retirement party by co-workers of the school system recently. She received a corsage, gifts and a cake. Mrs. Bogaard has taught school for a total of 30 years. During the tribute given to her, Lawrence Stettler read letters from former students that are on file with the Department of Public Instruction, citing her patience and dedication to students during the years. She was also named District Teacher of the Year. Harold Mills, administrator of the Abbotsford School System, also attended.
