ABBOTSFORD - Abbotsford ended Prentice's reign on the Marawood Conference girls championship last season by posting a perfect 18-0 record, but Falcon coach Pam Kennedy says that's going to be a tough act to follow.

Not that the Falcons aren't capable of doing it again. They have three four-year letter winners and one three-year letterman back this season.

Four-year letter winners on the team are center Connie Venzke, forward Tari Hawks, and guard Becky Beil. Junior Lisa Thompson, a guard, is a three-year letter winner.

"Venzke was the second highest Soccer in the conference last year and she has a smooth, accurate jump shot and is tough on the boards," Kennedy said. "Hawks is an effective shooter who boxes out well on the boards."

"Beil shows lots of hustle, is a good ball handler and a deceptive passer," she added. _Thompson is an explosive player who has very quick hands on defense. She's a strong inside player."

Other letter winners on the team are junior Kristin Reichersamer, guard; and sophomores Carol Kallstrom, forward; and Joan Nikolay, forward.

"Reichersamer has an excellent outside shot, is a good ball handler and has good court sense, Kennedy said. Kallstrom is effective from long range and can drive to the basket. Nikolay is a hard worker and smart defensive player, but must work on her jump shot.

Other players on the team are juniors Chris Olson, guard; and Tammy Anderson, forward.
