Nuptial vows were spoken by Karen A. Jensen, Chicago, and Edward J. Purcell,
Evanston, Illinois, at the Christian Assembly of God Church in Wausau on
Saturday, May 29, 1976.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Jensen, Abbotsford, and Edward J. Purcell, Sr., Evanston,
Illinois, are parents of the couple.
The Rev. Earl Henning performed the 3 p.m. ceremony.
Mrs. Martin Schultz, Abbotsford, was soloist, and Mrs. Gordon Zillman, Wausau,
was organist.
The bride wore an A-line country ivory lace over taffeta gown, complemented by a
picture hat. She carried a cascade arrangement of white roses and blue baby’s
breath.
Mary C. Matzke, matron of honor, De Pere, a friend of the bride, wore a blue
gown trimmed with white. She carried a colonial bouquet of blue and white
flowers.
A reception and dinner followed at the Holiday Inn in Wausau.
The bride, a 1970 Abbotsford High School graduate, graduated from the University
of Wisconsin, Eau Claire in 1974. She is presently employed as a nurse clinician
at Evanston Hospital in Evanston.
Purcell is a student majoring in architecture at Illinois Institute of
Technology in Chicago.
The couple will live in Chicago.
