Dougherty, Harlan H. (26 April 1913 – 29 December 1983) With Flag
Harlan H. Dougherty, 70, of Merrillan died Thursday, December 29, at his home.
He was born on April 26, 1913, in Baraboo to Harry and Ida (Wright) Dougherty.
He married Violet Katchinska on July 18, 1941, in Baraboo, and the couple lived
in Baraboo for many years. They lived in rural Merrillan for the past 11 years.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He had been an automobile mechanic for many
years and was also a fur trapper.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Harlan, Jr. of Milwaukee, and Billie,
Harry, and Kera “Mike”, all of Merrillan; a half-sister, Mrs. Ronald (Beverly)
Federman, Baraboo; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son.
Services were held from the Charles Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls
with the Rev. Curtis Collidge officiating, and burial was made in Riverside
Cemetery in Black River Falls.
