Duerkop, Elmer (29 Oct 1910 - Jan 1984)

Elmer Duerkop, 73, formerly of Humbird, died recently in a Black River Falls nursing home.

Duerkop was born in the Town of Cleveland in Jackson County. He married Ramona Holman and farmed most of his life.

Survivors, besides his wife of Black River Falls, are his mother, Mrs. Ernest Duerkop, Dodgeville; two sons, James of Wausau and Alton of Centuria; two daughters, Marie Johnson of La Crosse and Tammy Duerkop of Wausau; two brothers, Marvin of Fountain City and Ivan of Black River Falls; a sister, June Jewel, Dodgeville; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held from Humbird United Church of Christ with burial made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery. The Jensen Funeral Home of Hixton was in charge of arrangements.
