Spry, Violet (10 January 1898 – 12 January 1984)
Funeral services were held on Monday morning, January 16, for Mrs. Lloyd
(Violet) Spry, who passed away in Wild Rose, on Thursday, January 12. She was a
former Granton resident. The Rev’s. John Thompson of Wild Rose and C. Arlene
Denzer of Loyal officiated at the Granton United Methodist Church service.
Burial was made in St. Paul. The Gilbertson Funeral Home of Granton was in
charge of arrangements.
The deceased was born on January 10, 1898, in Richland County to John and Myrtle
Foster. She was married twice: to Bernard Wallek, who died, and in 1936 to Lloyd
Spry. She became a Granton resident in the early 1930s. She was a member of the
United Methodist Church.
Surviving her is a son, Robert, of Granton; and five daughters, Mrs. Gehrman (Alyce
June) Radtke of Milwaukee, Mrs. Raymond (Maxine) Workman of St. Paul, Minnesota,
Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Anderson of Wild Rose, Mrs. Raiman (Ruth) Lehman of
Fairfax, Virginia, and Mrs. Ace (Bonnie Rae) Hill of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Joining
them are two brothers, Elgin Foster of St. Paul and Victor Foster of Portland,
Oregon; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by both of her husbands.
