Beyer, Gordon Richard “Zeb” (14 December 1947 – 17 March 2023)
Gordon "Zeb" R. Beyer, 75, of Neillsville, died peacefully with family by his
side on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.
Gordon Richard Beyer was born on December 14, 1947, in Neillsville, the son of
Walter and Edna (Tews) Beyer. After graduating from Neillsville High School in
1966 Zeb worked a few jobs, including driving trucks for the transport, working
for the city of Neillsville Streets Dept, and eventually retiring with the Water
and Sewer Department. He served Neillsville for many years on the Fire
Department and was a member of the Lion's Club and the Neillsville Men's Club of
which he served as president for many years. Zeb was an avid outdoorsman and
enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing basketball and softball, and most
importantly spending time with family and friends. What Zeb cherished more than
anything was spending time with his three grandsons, Grayson, Chevy and Will.
Zeb is survived by his significant other, Betty Durst of Neillsville, children,
Lacy (Jeremy) Knoop of Neillsville, Scott (Laura) Beyer of Little Chute, Todd
(Kristy) Krehmeyer of Mequon, Bryan (Christy) Krehmeyer of Rice Lake, and Tamika
(Duane) Ellefson of Cottage Grove, and 9 grandchildren. He is also survived by
siblings, Nancy (John) Hagedorn of Neillsville, Karen (Al) Zschernitz of
Marshfield and Gary Beyer of Neillsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandchildren, Grace & Nolan.
A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Terry Marg will officiate. Visitation
will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023. A Celebration
of Life will be held following the service at the Neillsville American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the family for designation at a
later time.
