St. Paul’s North Green Grove Church was the scene June 19, 1976 for the marriage
of Brenda Ann Ewert and Joseph Emil Stumpner.
Mr. and Mrs. Milford Ewert, Route 1, Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stumpner, Route
1, Curtiss, are parents of the couple.
The Rev. Robin Fink performed the 3 p.m. marriage rites.
The bride wore a white bridal gown with the total look of sheer organza and
Chantilly lace trim. The gown featured a weautau neckline, long full sleeves and
a detachable Weautau trim. Lace edged the cathedral length veil. She carried
white carnations and yellow roses.
Judy Plantico was the maid of honor. Cindy Ewert and Lana Laabs were
bridesmaids.
They wore floral printed Dacron sheer organza halter gown with matching jackets
with a ruffle edging the hemline.
David Sommer was best man for the bridegroom. Tom Stumpner and Gene Ewert were
groomsmen.
Teresa Schuette and Mike Thayer were flower girl and ring bearer.
Dennis Ewert and Paul Stumpner, Jr., were ushers.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Mrs. Diane Harder and Mrs. Dorothy
Neuman.
A supper was served to guests at the church following the wedding. A dance was
held at the Sword in Colby.
The couple are both graduates of Colby High School.
