The 25th National Future Business Leaders of America Conference was held in
Washington, D.C. at the Washington Hilton recently. Two members of the chapter
represented Colby at this event.
The Colby chapter received the Gold Seal Award of merit, and Karen Lapp place
12th in the Senior Stenographer event.
Miss Lapp represented Wisconsin in the Senior Stenographer even. She also place
first in state competition at the State FBLA Leadership Conference in Green Lake
last April.
The Gold Seal award is given to those local chapters who have contributed to a
better understanding of business through activity programs and projects and
conducts their business in a commendable manger. Colby was one of 13 local
Wisconsin chapters to receive this award.
There are over 150 chapters in the State of Wisconsin. Accepting the award for
the Colby chapter was Nancy Tauchen, the local chapter voting delegate.
Mrs. Marie Braatz, the Colby FBLA advisor, also attended the conference.
