Yahr, Maynard L. (11 May 1887 – 24 Jun 1976)

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 26, 1976 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby for Maynard L. Yahr, age 89.

The Rev. Roland Golz officiated at the 1:30 p.m. rites. Burial followed in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Yahr, a former Unity resident, died Thursday, June 24 at the Colonial House of Colby.

He was born May 11, 1887. On December 29, 1914 he married the former Emma Justman at the North Spencer Lutheran Church. She died July 30, 1964.

Mr. Yahr spent most of his years in the Town of Unity farming. When he retired from farming he moved into the Village of Unity.

He served on the town board, and also on the village board. He was a member of the Commercial Club, the Senior Citizens Club and Zion Lutheran Church.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Cook and Anna Yahr, both of Colby, and Mayme Yahr, Unity.
