Archie B. Hendrickson, 89, Greenwood, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at
his home with his family near him.
Archie was born in Loyal, to Arthur and Ila (Salzwedel) Hendrickson, on Jan. 29,
1934. He married Marlene Vanden Bosch on July 26, 1955, and they had two sons.
Archie and Marlene owned and operated Archie and Marlene’s White House in
Willard for many years and made so many friends. He also drove semi for many
years, and ran team with his son, Bryan, traveling to California and back.
Archie and Marlene enjoyed riding motorcycle and put on several thousand miles
traveling around the states. He loved putting puzzles together in the later
years of his life, as well as reading a good book.
Archie is survived by his sons: Blaine Hendrickson (Loyal), and Bryan (Lori)
Hendrickson (Greenwood); two grandchildren: Erin (JJ) Cassie (Florida) and Allen
(Janelle) Hendrickson (New London); two step-grandchildren: Kim (Nate) Hauge
(Loyal) and Kristi Chromey (Loyal); eight great-grandchildren: Ezra, Alexis,
Carter, Brandon, Addison, Cayden, Abbie and Brent; one half-sister: Faye Lange
(Spencer); and many nieces and nephews Archie was preceded in death by his wife,
Marlene, on March 2, 2022; his daughter- in-law, Marla Hendrickson; two sisters,
Opal Marciniak and Arlene Egan; three brothers, Rodney, Orville and Henry
Hendrickson; one half-brother, Jimmy Englebretson; three stepbrothers, Bill, Bob
and Clayton Englebretson; and one stepsister, Ann Cheney.
The family will plan a gathering sometime this spring.
