Barbara Wegner, Monona, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sommer, Curtiss,
originated the idea for a Bicentennial painting done by Aaron, Bohrod, Madison.
After two years of planning, the painting was recently presented to the State of
Wisconsin.
The still life, “Under All Is The Land,” is said to be composed of a variety of
specially selected historical artifacts and symbols reflecting the moon of the
Bicentennial period.
The former Barbara Sommer lives in Monona with her husband, Dr. Gene Wegner, and
their three children.
