The Family of John & Anna Johnson

Contributed by Helen Vater Blaha from the Ystad collection.

John E. Johnson was born in Sweden March 7, 1871 and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1887, when he was a teenager. July 4, 1903, he married Anna Johnson in Loyal.  They resided in his parents home for some 30 years.

Annie Johnson, was born May 27, 1883, in Greenwood, Wisconsin, where she received her education.

They lived and farmed in Section 30 of the Town of Beaver, Clark County, WI, on a farm now owned by Dean and Suzzanne Johnson (2004).

Their children were: Ella (who later married Jeb Jolivette), Elias (who died at age 18), and Delmond.

Anna was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and its Good Hope Ladies Aid Society.

After John died of a heart attack, Anna lived with her son Delmond and his family until her death. She suffered a stroke in May, 1953 and died in 1954.
