The above ad appeared in the Greenwood Gleaner, February 2, 1900.
This business was owned by German born August Noetzel of Greenwood,
Wisconsin who immigrated to the United States at the age of seventeen.
April 7, 1896, he married Coralie Marie Van Dan Vossch and they settled in
Greenwood three years later. Mr. Noetzel served as clerk of the school
board and was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church. He
also belonged to the prestigious
Greenwood Commercial Club and was present for the
Banquet held in honor of the unveiling of the
Peace Monument given to the city by Ernest Durig in 1937.
