Greetings, folks, we are taking off. This is the aviatress, Miss Burkholder
speaking for the airship, “Juniors of G.H.S.”, leaving for our eventful high
school career.
The class of ‘38 enrolled in the fall of 1934, the biggest class in the
history of the school, and we have maintained supremacy throughout our
career with the leadership of efficient officers, by winning first in a one
act play called “Elmer” and second in the annual spring tournament.
The fall of 1935 found most of our same group back, no longer green, but
ready for added duties of our career. This year, we put on the stunt, “The
Old Curiosity Shop”.
The fall of 1936 is here. and we find we have a new aviatress, Miss Kelly,
speaking to us. We are going higher and higher each year. This year we find
our class decreased, but we have the largest number of any class on the
honor roll.
In the sphere of outside activities and social events we are again on the
top. Three girls from our class are on the debate team, about twenty are in
the band, and we also have a large representation in forensics.
In the Dramatic Club, H,. C. A. Club, Girl’s Glee Club, F.F.A., Echoes
Staff, Basketball and Football fields we find a great number of Juniors.
This is our year to give the prom and we have highest hopes of giving the
best one ever held in our school.
May thi5 be for the Junior Airship of G.H.S., “Flying Ever Onward”.
