About 25 candidates for the basketball squad reported to the High School Gym on Monday evening, Nov. 23, for the first practice of the season. After spending the first week on fundamentals and conditioning, the coach picked the following squad to meet Westboro in the first game of the season.


Forwards: H. Lyon, A. Krognoss, M. Mech. Center: K. Brown. Guards: C. Haeuser, V. Mech, B. Brown. Manager: H. Poppe.


The squad entered the District Class “C” tournament at Abbotsford on March 3rd and were defeated by Owen in the first game (Greenwood 15—Owen 36) In the second game Greenwood was defeated by Spencer (Greenwood 13 Spencer 33).
 

On March 1 1 the first of a series of games between the Faculty and the Varsity was played and resulted in the Varsity coining out second best by a score of 32 to 11.

Football


At Coach Schwahn’s call for candidates about 22 fellows reported for the first practice on Monday, September 21. This game of touch football was new to the majority of the fellows but they responded with vim, vigor, and a desire to make good. However, as the going became tougher each day, the number of candidates dwindled until the following selections were made: Center: W. Stabaow, H. Jackson Guards: H. Poppe, M Alperstett, C. Pakiz, G. Haeuser, Ends: V. Mech, B. Lehherr, Quarterbacks: D. Stabnow, L. Brown, M. Mech Manager: H. Dill


In spite of the fact that this has been the first effort Put forth to have have a football team here the game enjoyed immense popularity and a successful schedule was played.
