Foster Twp., Clark County, Wisconsin

Floyd Plautz and Shorty La Flex working on the
dismantling of the old bridge. The bridge had steel girders and wooden
plank floor or base.
Putting together the culvert which replaced the old bridge. A committee of
August Stremekis, Ray Durst, John Bradshaw, Felix Auman, and Fred Daft had the
job to determine what action to be taken on replacement for a new bridge or
culvert. This committee met on April 8, 1970 and once they determined to go with
the culvert, the work began. These five men had some very important decisions to
make and we must realize there was not much for highway aids or grants to help
finance this project. It mostly weighed on the Township and Clark County to get
this culvert and road construction paid for. Frank Auman was the patrolman and
Ray Durst did many hours of tractor work, moving dirt and more. Plautz Brothers
were hired for much of the construction work.
