The Owen Gospel Tabernacle
Owen, Hixon, Clark Co., Wisconsin
Owen Gospel Tabernacle, ca. 1939
Back row, far left: Virginia Teach and next to her
is our mother Amy (Smith) Teach Front row, far left: Vida Teach in a light color dress with braded pig tails I "think" I'm in there but hidden by heads and flags. This church building was owned by a great city policeman, Henry Riegel, and his wife. It was located on old highway 29, between a Texaco station and the county garage. Lillian Jensen served as the pastor. Prior to becoming a church, this building had been in the big flood and inside a water line could still be seen after its conversion. Mr. Riegal would pick us up in Curtiss and bring us to church and I have very fond memories of my time in Owen, Wisconsin. Jerry Teach |
