September 6, 1943 - 1944
The opening of school found the halls over-run by thirty-seven bewildered freshman. In due time however each one became accustomed to the ways of high school life and many of the members participated in extra curricular activities. The most important event that year was the annual sophomore return party.
1944 - 1945
When the curtain was again lifted, a class of thirty-three appeared. Those who had left our happy group were Kenneth Anderson, Roland Bingham, Ruth Jagodzinski, Frank Kolsum and Matilda Karaba. We had gained one new member in the person of Phyllis Hacker. The big event of this year was the freshman initiation which was carried off successfully.
1945 - 1946
The opening of the year found us a group of thirty juniors. Those whose faces we missed were Genevieve Arneson, Martin Autio, John Brenner, Eldon Catura and Leona Pabich. The new ones that joined our ranks were William Thede and Ruth Jagodzinski. The biggest event of all was the Junior Prom. We chose as our Prom King, Eugene Johnson, who with his sophomore Queen, Bonnie Marking, led the Grand March in the gym decorated in keeping with the theme “Stairway to the Star.”
1946 - 1947
Now, as the graduating class of 1947, we have dwindled in number to twenty-five. As a small but ambitious group, we are looking forward with great anticipation to the publishing of the Clover Leaf. Those who left our ranks during the early fall were Eugene Johnson, William Thede and Ruth Jagodzinski. We received one new member, Herbert Ewan. The class represents a large variety of nationalities. With the exception of one student, the members of this class are of European descent with the German nation in the lead. The smallest numbers of representations is from the Indian and Finnish nations. As we are about to close our work in high school, we look back upon the achievements of the last four years with pride and with gratitude to the teachers who have so willingly offered their time to help us.
