Alice Braun has provided an extremely positive influence in my life. As a child, I always felt she was my second mom.  A gentle and caring person, she cheerfully included me in family activities whenever I visited her son (my best friend) at their home across the road in the Braun Settlement. As an adult, I've loved sharing an interest in local history with her.  In fact, she was one of the very first to encourage the development of this website.  Because she never speaks poorly of anyone, only talking about others if she has something nice to say, She is an easy person to respect and admire.

*Alice would especially like to see the  Indian grinding stone, which has been identified in Mead Township, appropriately placed and a commemorative plaque erected.
