In 1954 the country schools in the Town of Mayville were
consolidated with the Dorchester School District. That fall, the
7th and 8th grade students from Hilltop School went to school in
Dorchester. Hilltop School continued to function for three more
years--teaching grades 1 through 6--and then closed permanently
at the end of the school year in 1958.
