Surnames: Huhn, Brotherton, Ackerman, Decker, Siegert, Zimmer, Benzmann, Krueger, Schmidt, Schreiber, Firnstahl, Koppa, Peschke, Hannemann ----Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 05/16/1946 ----Milan – May, 15, 1946 Ferdinand Huhn and family visited at the Marion Brotherton home at Unity Sunday, when the former’s sister, Mrs. Brotherton, celebrated her birthday anniversary. Charles Ackerman and daughters, Margaret, Kathleen and Fern, left Sunday for their home at Bellvidere, Ill., after spending several days at the home of another daughter, Mrs. Urban Decker. Mrs. Arthur Bub and children spent Mother’s Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Siegert at Dorchester. Mrs. John Zimmer, Thorp, visited at the Paul Benzmann home Thursday. Otto Hannemann visited at Greenwood Friday. Wilmer Bunkelmann of Chicago is spending several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Bunkelmann. He accompanied his brother, Raymond Bunkelmann, to Chippewa Falls Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Huhn entertained Thursday evening to honor the former’s birthday anniversary. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Marion Brotherton and daughter, Iris, Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Krueger and son, Russel and Gene, and Charles Huhn and sons, Neal and Franklin, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krueger, Curtiss. Mrs. Bertha Zimmer of Thorp left Friday for Dorchester after spending several days with her brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schmidt. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Benzmann of Dorchester visited with Paul Benzmann and family at the Charles Schmidt home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. John Schreiber entertained guests at a 5 o’clock dinner Sunday. Mrs. Stephen Firnstahl and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Firnstahl and children, Dolores, Margaret and Daniel, of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Koppa and son, David, of Neillsville and Jacob Peschke of Hammond, Ind., and son, Clement A. Peschke of Chicago, were out of town guests. The latter two also visited at the Bernard Schreiber home.
