Spencer, Wisconsin Local News.

 

George Hanson went to the picnic held in Mr. Butter's woods.

 

A new doctor and dentist moved here from Loyal. His name is Dr. Barber.

 

Ed. Taylor from Oshkosh is here visiting his brother-in-law Mr. A. Steward.

 

Mrs. Ben Griffen went to Minneapolis to visit with her brother and family.

 

Mrs. D. V. Richerdson (Richardson?) and children went to Dodge county to visit her mother.

 

Miss Mary Moon went to Moon Sunday last to visit her sisters and other relation.

 

Alta Mason is down from Athens visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Mason.

 

Callie Damon returned home from Athens after two weeks' visit with her aunt.

 

Mr. Geo. Farrington has been very sick, but at this writing is gaining slowly.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Crowell from the village visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Andrews last Thursday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Howard from the Waupaca Home, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. G, Lake and family.

 

M. Winters took his son Oscar to Marshfield to have an operation performed for appendicitis. He is very sick.

 

The mother of Lawrence Dricoll is here visiting Lawrence and also her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Hayward.

 

Rev. Johnson was here the guest of Miss Vernie Richardson one day this week. He is on his way to Augusta, Wis.

 

Mrs. G. Reas went to Moon Monday to visit her son Ed. and Jennie. She took her granddaughter Leaffie Reas along.

 

Mrs. Hattie Artman and children returned to her home at Butte, Montana, after a three months' visit with her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Blake.

 

The grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Brooks, Arthur Schofield, came from Keystone, S. D. for a visit He has been gone since he was a small boy.

 

Mr. Ed, Heath, Sr., and son Grant and daughter Carrie Damon went to attend the funeral of their uncle at Waupaca. He is the former's brother-in-law.

 

Mr. Carley Teeter was down from Moon last week visiting his mother-in-law, Mrs. G. Reas and daughter Mrs. C. Gennett. He took his nephew John Reas with him on his return home.

Miss Selma and Florence Blankenburg, Miss Emma Frank and Miss Maggie Bradley went out three miles east of town raspberrying. They took a lunch with them and spent the day in the woods which proved a pleasant day's outing, as well as a profitable one, returning as they did with about twenty quarts of berries.

 

Leonard Nickles, the only son of Mr. find Mrs. G. Nickles of the town of Unity, was badly crushed at Romeo Friday morning. While helping to load a car load of logs the binding chain broke and some of the logs rolled onto him, crushing one of his legs. The injured man was taken to the hospital at Marshfield where his leg was amputated, but up to the present writing there are little hopes of his recovery.
