Friday, 13, Apr. 1906 Spencer Walker Hayward is visiting his brother at Park Falls. J. K. Hayward transacted business at Colby Friday. Miss Mary Hanson did shopping at Marshfield Thursday. Arthur Mason and wife of Unity, called on Spencer friends Saturday. Miss Harriet Hayward returned to her studies at the Oshkosh Normal Sunday. Mesdames B. J. Landaal and A. W. Follett were Marshfield callers Tuesday afternoon. Herman Natzke o£ Mobile, Ala., who has been visiting his brother returned home last week. Gabe Hubbard returned home last Thursday from North Dakota where he took up a homestead. Jud. Upson and Charlie Gilbert went to North Dakota Monday, intending to take up homesteads. Mrs. Lettie Wood of Plainfield, was the guest of her sister, Mrs. M. C. Blake a few days this week. Byron Mason came down from Park Falls Friday having a slightly injured hand. He returned Monday. Mrs. F. B. Hand returned to her home at Hurley Saturday after several weeks visit here with her parents. Mrs. Elizabeth Reas returned borne Friday from Oregon where she spent the winter with her daughter, Mrs. March. Mrs. Eliza Follett returned Saturday from a two months stay at the home of her son at Fond du Lac. Mrs. A. W. Follett accompanied her. Geo. Hayward moved into the Don Gardiner house across from the school house this week and Mrs. Elizabeth Reas now occupies her own house. Miss Sarah Rhodes returned Wednesday from Redwood Falls, Minn., and spent a week with her aunt, Mrs. H. R. Crowell before going to her home at Oneida. You feel the life giving current the minute you take it, A gentle soothing warmth, fills the nerves and blood with life. People were shocked Friday morning to learn that relatives had received a telegram announcing the death of Mrs. Rena Schroeven at the hospital at Tomahawk after an operation for tumors. The body was brought home that afternoon and the funeral was held at the Lutheran church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Imm officiating. Mrs. Schroeven went to Tomahawk for treatment about two weeks ago but her case was not considered serious. She leaves aged parents and several brothers and a sister besides a large circle of friends. John Schluenz died Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. Prehn. He was over seventy years old and had been quite feeble all winter, but the immediate cause of his death was gangrene, which came from a sore on one of his toes. He is survived by two sons and four daughters all of whom were present at the funeral except one. The funeral was held at the Lutheran church Monday afternoon, Rev. Imm officiating. Mr. Schluenz had been a resident of Spencer many years and leaves a large circle of friends.
