Spencer

Louis Martin from near Chicago and Byron Mason and wife of Park Falls, came Wednesday to attend the funeral of their brother-in-law, Fred J. Schluenz.

Miss Esther Gummo of Rib Lake, came down Thursday to bring her little niece Virgie Martin, who accompanied her father home the next day.

Mrs. B. Haskins of Ashland, came last week for an extended visit with her parents, C. Loveland and wife.

L. S. Schussmann, principal of the high school at Rice Lake, came Saturday and remained over Sunday. He returned home Monday accompanied by his wife and two children who have been visiting here.

Mrs. F. J. Schluenz returned to St. Paul Monday to settle business matters, and then she will come here to live.

E. L. Messer returned from Prairie du Chien Monday. The household goods arrived and he and his family will soon be settled in the Ingham house.

Mrs. Roth of Colby spent Saturday here at the home of her son, Will Roth.

Miss Hattie Johnson of Colby, spent Saturday and Sunday at the Crowell home.

The three months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hebert died Friday of convulsions. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church Sunday afternoon.

August Brusewitz and daughter, Mrs. Rob. Voelker returned Monday from Merrill where they visited a few days with their son and brother, Frank Brusewitz and family.

Mrs. A. Kaabe and Mrs. G. Gindfleisch visited at Wausau last week.

Henry Dagneau, who was at one time night agent here did day work at this depot the past week while E. C. Utter took a vacation.

Mrs. Henry Moon, a young woman of twenty five years, who lived two miles east of town, took her own life last Wednesday morning by shooting herself in the right temple with a pistol. It is thought she was insane at the time as she was subject to what seemed to be insane fits of anger. She had quarreled with her husband the night before and that morning objected to his going to work. After he left the house he heard a shot and returned to to find her lying insensible on the floor. As soon as he opened the door and saw her he called to a near neighbor who was outside. Dr. Soles was called at once but she lived only a few hours. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Moon was formerly Miss Edith Dickenson of Spencer and leaves besides her husband, a mother and father, two sisters and three brothers.
