(December 2, 1925 - March 3, 2009) Robert F. Bohman, age 83, Stratford, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Golden Living Continental Manor, Abbotsford. Mr. Bohman was born on December 2, 1925 in Laona, Wisconsin to Frank and Christina (Britten) Bohman and was a graduate of Laona High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and received the purple heart medal. He was honorably discharged on August 20, 1945. Bob and the former Marie L. Diers were united in marriage on June 12, 1951 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bakerville. The Bohman’s farmed in the Town of Cleveland, Marathon County. Bob was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6352 of Stratford, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 57, and the 87th Infantry Division Association. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marie, and six children, Tony Bohman of Stratford, Diane (Dave) Andraska of Black River Falls, Karen (Randy) Delis of Auburndale, Mike (Deb) Bohman of Stratford, Arnie (Ruth) Bohman of Kennan, and Gary (Kari) Bohman of Stratford. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and a brother, Bill Bohman of Laona. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy VanDerLeest and Margaret Raymond. The family wishes to thank the staff of Golden Living Continental Manor for the loving care that was given to Bob. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, March 6, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford. Rev. Thomas Rudolph will officiate and music will be provided by St. Joseph’s Resurrection Choir. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, and serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Ben Bohman, Jesse Bohman, Ryan Bohman, Kevin Andraska, Adam Bohman, and Tyler Carolfi. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sauter-Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford and on Friday from 10:30 am until service time at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
