Wednesday, 18 Mar. 2009 STRATFORD -- Mildred Elizabeth Schultz, 89, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2009, at the Victory Lakes Care Center in Lindenhurst, Ill. Millie was born April 3, 1919, in the town of Frankfort to Frank and Martha (Schreiber) Hoppa. She married Donald Schultz on June 10, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. They moved to Stratford and raised their family. Mildred worked for several years at Allington Grocery Store. She was an active member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Altar Society, and Stratford Homemakers Club. She sang in St. Joseph's Choir more than 50 years and was a member of several card clubs. She loved music and dancing and was often was heard joyfully humming. This was followed with a witty comment and cute smile. Her home was warm and welcoming and decorated beautifully with photos of her family. Loving to bake, she treated friends and family alike with her famous cookies and bars. She enjoyed spending her time in her garden, knitting and crocheting. Most important to her was spending time with "all her children" and life-long friends. She was the epitome of hospitality, love, selfless giving and complete devotion to her family. She was affectionately called "Grandma Sweetheart." Mildred is survived by her children, Janice Jobe of San Rafael, Calif., Ken (Dori) Schultz of Waukesha, Carol (Bob) McMullen of Tempe, Ariz., Wayne (Patti) Schultz of Marathon, and Mary (Rick) Evans of Lake Villa, Ill. She will be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. Her husband Don predeceased her and awaits her on the dance floor in Heaven. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford. Her dear friend, Fr. Thomas Rudolph, will celebrate the Mass. Music will be provided by St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home in Stratford; and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral Mass. A luncheon reception will follow immediately at the church hall. A memorial will be established at a later date. In lieu of flowers or condolences, contributions may be made to Ken Schultz and mailed to him at 730 Lynne Drive, Waukesha, WI 53186. The family thanks the staff of Victory Lake Franciscan Center who befriended Mom and cared for her in the last months. We will miss you, "The Most Beautiful Woman in Stratford." Love, "All your Children"
