(21 Feb. 1911 – 25 Mar. 2008) Peter Z. Kuyoth, 97, Edgar, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the House of Dove, Hospice Unit, Marshfield. He was born in Feb. 21, 1911, in the town of Cassel, son of the late Susan (Darnowski) and Joseph Kuyoth. On Oct. 11, 1937, he married Helen Krause at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, town of Cassel. She preceded him in death Jan. 3, 2004. Peter was an entrepreneur and businessman. He started his career with little money and resources by hauling logs and gravel in the depression era. Following this he saw an opportunity and developed a very successful heavy construction business. Throughout the years he always maintained his independence, humor and integrity. Survivors include two daughters, Alice Brien, Aspen, Colo., and Sharon (Michael) Moore, Racine; eight grandchildren, Roxanne (Keith) Spindler, Mary (Steve) Lindner, Scott (Kristen) Schilling, Kevin Schilling, Poull Brien, Lindsay (Steve) Brien-McDonald, Amy and Rob Hameister; one brother, Paul (Jane) Kuyoth, Texas; three sisters, Julie Zapletal, California, Regina Papstein, New Jersey, and Pauline (George) Lott, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanne Schilling; three sisters, Frances, Lucy and Helen; and four brothers, Tony, Joe, Jacob and James. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, town of Cassel. The Rev. Barnabas Kyea will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel.
