(25 Jun 1923 – 26 Feb. 2005) Clarence R. Novitzke, 81, formerly of Park Falls, a native of the town of Cassel, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Norseland Nursing Home, Westby. Clarence served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a flight navigator during World War II. He taught in the Marathon School District. Later he became a partner in the Lohr Funeral Home and Furniture Store of Marathon and Edgar. He operated the Brown Funeral Home and Ambulance Service in Park Falls, the Hornby Funeral Home of Park Falls, and Bruns Funeral Homes in Glidden and Mellen. He retired in 1981. Survivors include his wife, Viola (Butalla) Novitzke; three children, Carla (Michael) Mountain, Waupun, Linda (Gary) Hanson, Cashton, and John (Jane) Novitzke, Park Falls; four grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Park Falls. Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery, Park Falls, with military rites by the Park Falls American Legion and VFW Posts. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls, with the Knights of Columbus prayer services at 7 p.m. Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. |
