Wadzinski, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at the Hospice House in Wausau. She was born May 19, 1916, in Manitowoc, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Bonin Sr. On June 16, 1936, she married Walter Wadzinski Sr. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Poniatowski. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2001. They had been lifelong members of Sacred Heart Church in Cassel. Sylvia was a homemaker, devoted wife of 65 years to Walter, loving and caring mother to all 10 of her children, 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandbaby, Joseph Wadzinski, in 1965; and a great-grandbaby, Isabelle Fetters, in 2003. Sylvia made the best homemade bread and was a good cook. She also was known for the scrapbooks of newspaper clippings she had accumulated over the years of births, deaths, marriages and special events. She also played the piano and accordion. She was self-taught and could play those instruments by ear. Sylvia was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Berg (Hilary Ceranski), Wausau, Alice (Bob) Peterson, Weston, and Bonnie (Jay) Heindl, Mosinee; and seven sons, Wally Jr. (Joan), Weston, Bob, Marathon, George (Paulette) and Eugene (Bonnie Sanborn), all of Wausau; Tim (Dawn), Marathon, Gerard (Ruby), Mosinee, and William (LaVonne), Marathon. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Chris (Lynne) Wadzinski, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and children, Brooke and Gracie, Todd (Lisa) Wadzinski, Weston, and Kiley; Kim Wadzinski, Wausau, and children, Breanna and Taylor, Sally (Scott) Jansen, Weston, and children, Morgan and Annika, Laura (Keven) Kluge, Los Altos, Calif., and Lance, Carl Berg, Lake Geneva, Craig (Diane) Wadzinski, Madison, and children, Ben and Emily, Heidi (Luke) Vanderbloemen, Denton, Texas, Holli (Jon) Hoeffler, Waukesha, Dana (Shane) Fetters, St. Peter, Minn., and children, Cole and Claire, Dawn (Dan) Obremski, Mosinee, and children, Brett, Trevor and Natalie, Amy (Joel) Lewis, Ossining, N.Y., and children, Miles and Sophia, Jodi (Bryan) Zebro and Dan Heindl, all of Mosinee, Jason (Kim) Heindl, Weston, and Sierra, Jamie Heindl, Birnamwood, and Anthony, Jill Heindl, Birnamwood, and Alexus, Elisha (Chris) Robinson, Weston, Josh Wadzinski, Wausau, Shelley Wadzinski, St. Francis, Jackie, Richard, Andy, Nick and Matthew Wadzinski, all of Marathon, Dustin Wadzinski, Mosinee, and Becky and Lindsey Wadzinski, Marathon. Her siblings and many nieces and nephews also survive Sylvia. Her brothers and sisters include Marcella Brosseau and Leonard (Dorothy) Bonin, all of Calumet City, Ill., Eugene (Lorraine) Bonin, Lansing, Ill., Betty Seubert, Marathon, Phyllis (Lawrence) Miller and Rita Bonin, all of Edgar, and Joseph Bonin, Athens. Ann, Mayme, Dolores and Leo Bonin all preceded her in death. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cassel. The Rev. Barnabas Kyea will preside. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Marathon and again from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church.
