(1 July 1913 – 12 Sept. 1988) STRATFORD – Clifford L. Wiesman, 75, Stratford, died at 11:40 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield, where he had been a patient since June 15. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in the town of Cleveland. The Rev. Alwyn L. York will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Marion Spindler will be the organist for Marjorie Tolle, soloist. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Darrell, Daniel, and Thomas Neumann, Gary and Jeff Wiesman, and one nephew, Merlin Wiesman. The Ebenezer United Church of Christ Men’s Brotherhood and friends will be honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be at the Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home, Stratford, after 4 p.m. today, on Thursday until 11 a.m. and at the church from noon until time of service. He was born July 1, 1913, in the town of Cleveland, to August and Ida Weisman. He attended the Sunshine School in the town of Cleveland. He married Dorothy S. Krause June 24, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. He began working in lumber camps and farming. He worked for Stratford Farmers Co-op for 41 years, retiring in 1982. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1986. He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, where he served as an elder, deacon, president, secretary, treasurer and the Men’s Brotherhood and choir. He was a former treasurer of Sunday School, a former member and chief of the Stratford Volunteer Fire Department, and was involved in the Boy Scouts. He was a former Band Booster president and member of the Senior Citizens Club of Stratford. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, two sons, Dale of Winchester, and Glen of Schaumburg, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Theone) Neumann of Marshfield, two sisters, Mrs. Edna Birkholz of Loundon, Tenn., and Mrs. Alice Dahlke of Milwaukee, eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
