Thursday, 14 May 2009 ----Hadley, Ruth Elenore (3 Oct. 1936 - 6 May 2009) OKLAHOMA -- Ruth Elenore Hadley, 72, of Shawnee and Oklahoma City, Okla., departed from this life Wednesday, May 6, 2009. This beloved mother and grandmother was born to Tom and Hatti (Ertl) Jicinsky in Stratford on Oct. 3, 1936. Following graduation from high school in 1954, she soon met, then married Garland Hadley, an Oklahoman stationed at a nearby Army station. Primarily a homemaker, Ruth bore and raised six children before entering the workforce. She worked 23 years at the Last Frontier Council before retiring. Ruth was a "Pied Piper" to children and was usually surrounded by neighbor kids and children who were drawn to her gentle and kind spirit. She was humble, wise and a woman of few words. She was admired as someone who exemplified virtue and courage in her daily life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Diane Hadley. She is survived by her children: daughter, Pamela (Richard) Matthews of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter Valerie (Michael) Morey of Edmond, Okla.; daughter, Victoria Dial of Ardmore, Okla.; son, Dr. David (Meredith) Hadley of Shawnee, Okla.; and daughter, Elizabeth (Art) Lambert of Corinth, Texas. She also left behind 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by a brother, Jim (Pat) Jicinsky of Stratford; a sister, Joan (Gene) Jenkins of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Robert (Gerti) Jicinsky of Stratford; a sister, Lois (Dick) Brandt of Brighton, Mich.; and a brother, Paul (Patricia) Jicinsky of Athens. A Celebration of Life service was held May 12 at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Okla. |
