Roger Conrad Riehle, 72, Athens, died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2009 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Athens.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

72, Athens, died suddenly of an acute asthma attack early Saturday morning, August 8, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born January 30, 1937 in Athens, son of the late Anton and Frances (Platta) Riehle.
In 1960, Roger took over and enjoyed farming on the family homestead in the town of Rietbrock. On August 28, 1976, he married Judy Jacobi in Wausau, she survives. Together, they farmed in the Rietbrock area until his retirement in 2000.
Roger was a 1955 graduate of the Athens High School and was still active with the class planning committee. Roger was currently the supervisor for the town of Rietbrock where he has served the township for the past 16 years.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed playing softball, was a dedicated bowler and in his later years, he enjoyed playing dartball. He also loved spending time travelling with his wife, Judy and enjoyed their cottage in Tomahawk. For many years, he was a volunteer at St. Anthony School as a playground supervisor.
Roger enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a true and loving friend to everyone. He will be sadly missed by his wife, family and friends.
Survivors include, his wife, Judy Riehle, Athens; three sisters, Germaine Mitchinson, Santa Cruz, Cal., Marlene (Rodney) Otto, Pasadena, Cal., and Nancy (Clifford) Hopperdietzel, Athens; his mother-in-law, Alvina Jacobi, Wausau; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Jacobi, Weston and Joel (Sheryl) Jacobi, Wausau; two sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Jim) Lawrie, Spencer and Joyce (Gary) Guss, Weston; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Riehle; and an infant sister, Patricia.
