HISTORY OF
NORTHERN WISCONSIN
MARATHON COUNTY, Wis. 1881
|
This is rather a new place, mostly filled with Americans – about 200
in number. It has two schools, two or more stores, with
boarding-houses, saw-mills, a shingle mill and a planing mill. It is
on the Wisconsin Central Railroad, and has the elements of growth
and prosperity.
