Marathon County, Wisconsin ~~District No. 4 Holton Twp. School ~~ |
||||
District #4 School is the township of Holton, Marathon Co., WI which is very close to Dorchester. My grandmother's brother and sister are in the photo -- John Edward "Eddie" Schwermer and Selma "Sally" Schwermer. (My Grandmother was "Elsie" Schwermer Cowen.) To date the photo, I can only offer that Eddie was born in 1894. He is 5th from the left. I am terrible at guessing ages of children! Maybe you are better at it...? I think this school was located in the NE corner of section 8 of "Township 29 North Range 2 East" as shown on Plat maps. The names written on the back of the photo are: Edna Kallepp, Herman Krainak, Martha Kallepp, Frieda Kienzel, Ed Schwermer, Ernest Smith, James Smith, Frank Smith, Ignatz Renner, Frances Krainak, Elsie Blazel, Mary Stelzel, Hattie Obernberger, Anna Pope, Freddie Holhler, Warren Brownell, Selma Schwermer, Anna Blazel, Edna Pope, Grant Pope, Anna Zobrak, Louise Renner, Joe Henlick, Gustie Krainak, J. Koehler, Joe Konectry, Ruth Pope, Mike Zabrak, Harold Brownell, Bertha Bittner, Caroline Skruvane, Josephine Kraniak, John Zabrak, Bill Pope, Tracy Miller, Bill Nagle, Frank Blazel, Bill Miller, Martin Stetzel, George Obernberger, Bertha Crane, Paul Crane, Tillie Miller, Tony Bettner and Tillie Koehler.
