Schilling permanent Neillsville Postmaster

Neillsville Post Office Officer in Charge Lisa Rae Schilling will now be the permanent postmaster.  Schilling was chosen from among 10 other applicants for the position and began working under the new title Saturday, Aug. 29. 

Schilling, a Marshfield resident, enjoys being accessible to customers to answer their questions and “feels at home” working in Neillsville.

Continuing to build relationships with customers and listening to her employees’ input are two of Schilling’s goals. 

One way Schilling builds relationships with customers is working at the window serving customers, which she does regularly and remains excited about continuing. 

Working at the window allows customers to know who Schilling is and communicate with her.

Schilling also wants to work with her co-workers to improve the post office.  “To me, we’re a team,” explained Schilling.

Schilling is excited about calling Neillsville her community and calling the Neillsville Post Office her home.

As a postmaster, Schilling supervises, fills out reports, orders supplies and conducts other behind-the-scenes work at Neillsville’s Post Office.

Schilling began working in Neillsville as officer in charge in January 2008 while working as a postmaster in Auburndale.

Schilling has worked at Marshfield, Ringo, Auburndale and Chili post offices.

The number of post office operational hours will continue to remain the same at this point, said Schilling. The Neillsville Post Office window is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Schilling encourages city residents to keep their animals away from mailboxes to ensure letter carrier safety.
