The Great War
On August 4, 1918, St. John’s Church decided to dedicate a Service flag in honor of its young men. The Committee in charge consisted of Herman Berger, Frank Hemp, Henry Bartell, Henry Just, Wm. Naedler. When the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918, fifty-two stars decked the flag.
