Neillsville Public Library receives new computers
The Neillsville Public Library now has four new computers available for public use. These computers have Windows 7 as the operating system and are equipped with 23 inch monitors. There are also headphone jacks and USB ports in the front, making them more accessible. Pictures can also be viewed from a digital camera using the built-in-medial card reader.
These computers were funded through the GATES Online Opportunity Hardware Grant (from the GATES Foundation) and a 25-percent matching donation from the Neillsville Area Public Library Foundation.
The Neillsville Area Public Library Foundation was started with a generous bequest. Since the foundation was formed, it has been helping the library acquire items the library would not otherwise be able to purchase. With the help of the Foundation, the library has been able to acquire a DVD disc repair system, which means new DVDs do not have to be purchased when they get scratched, a new copier and a handheld inventory scanner, which makes doing inventory a lot easier and faster.
The Neillsville Public Library staff and the Library Board are grateful to the Foundation for its generous support.
