Memorial Day observances planned in Neillsville, at The Highground
Neillsville will celebrate Memorial Day on Monday, May 29th, with a ceremony at the O’Neill Creek Bridge beginning at 10 a.m. The Neillsville High School Band will play and the National Guard will also be present. From there, the observance will move to the Neillsville Cemetery on the north side of town where a short ceremony will take place conducted by Pastor Joe Weiers of the Assembly of God Church.
At The Highground there will be a Memorial Day picnic for veterans and their families. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a pig roast served at 12 noon. Families are requested to bring their own plates, beverages, and a dish to pass. From 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. music will be provided by the Danish Peasants. There will be games at 1 p.m. and the Tree House dedication at 2 p.m.
