Highground holds ?Friends of The Highground? Dinner

The Friends of The Highground dinner was held Saturday evening, Feb. 20, at Fannies Supper club. Invitations were mailed to volunteers who donated their time, equipment and/or dollars totaling over $1,000 in 2009.

Guests were welcomed by The Highground Volunteer General Manager Kirk Rodman. Following a family style dinner, The Highground gave special thanks to those whose generous support is so deeply appreciated. As part of its mission of healing and education, special recognition was also given to those who spirit makes The Highground so special. This year the Spirit of the Highground Award was presented to Pink Van Gorden, who has truly made a difference in the lives of many ? for going the extra mile.

The Highground is not about what you see; it?s about what you don?t see ? the hundreds of volunteers working to make it a welcome home for all veterans and visitors.  Volunteers and contributors are the heart of The Highground, whose mission is healing and education.  The Highground is a place for every one.

Friends of the Highground should mark their calendars and set aside April 21 through April 24 to come and enjoy the company of good friends and share in the satisfaction of a job well done during the Annual Spring Work Weekend.
