Learning Center to Highground Volunteer General Manager Kirk Rodman.  (Contributed photos)

Paul Jakel came to the rescue of The Highground?s flag pole and donated over $5,000 to the Learning Center.

Jakel Plumbing, Heating & Electric of Abbotsford helped prepare the Learning Center for opening and returned over $5,000 of the cost to The Highground as a donation.  Paul Jakel also donated his time and equipment to fix the broken ?track? ? which allows the cable to go up and down allowing the flags to be lowered and raised ? at the top of the 70-foot flag pole.  Now the flags will be able to be replaced and put at half staff when needed.

Without contributors and volunteers, The Highground would not be able to fulfill its mission of healing and education.  Contributors and volunteers are the heart of The Highground.

?The Highground is a place for all of us.?
